Pianimals Kids Club Policies of Operation

2022-23 School Year

These operating policies have been established for parents whose children are taking piano lessons with Pianimals Kids Club, LLC (PKC) for the 2022-2023 school year.

Payment Policy

PKC requires monthly prepayment for piano lessons. PKC will issue invoices by the 5th of each month.  Payment by check, money order or online payment through E-Invoicing is due by the 15th of every month. If you pay by check or money order, please send your payments to Pianimals Kids Club, 5673 E. Fountain Circle, Mason, OH 45040. Payments are considered late if received after the 1st of the following month. If the 1st falls on a weekend, the payment is due the first Monday of that month.  Payments received after the first will result in a $25.00 late fee. If your payment is not received 7 days after the first of the month, your child’s lessons will be suspended until payment including late fee is made in full.

If a check is returned because of insufficient funds, PKC will not be able to give your child lessons until we have received payment for his/her lessons. PKC will also require an additional $29.00 to cover bank processing fees.

Non–Refundable Enrollment Fee

PKC requires an enrollment fee of $15.00 which is due with the first monthly payment of each academic year. This fee covers expenses related to awards and certificates given at the end of the year and a winter or spring recital if possible.

Student Enrollment Form

Parents MUST complete a student enrollment form prior to the child’s first lessonThe Pianimals Kids Club teacher will not be able to teach your child until this form has been received. This form provides contact information and gives us your permission to teach your child. It may be completed online and is available on our website. http://www.pianimalskids.com/student-enrollment/

Make-up Lessons

Make-up lesson days or lesson credits will no longer be provided or issued by Pianimals Kids Club except in the case of the absence of the PKC teacher or snow days. If you anticipate your child will be absent for any of his/her lessons in the upcoming month, you will need to notify Ms. Deborah upon receipt of the monthly invoice so that your invoice can be adjusted to reflect that upcoming absence. Once a payment is made for lessons, there will be no refund or reimbursement issued if a child misses a lesson in the subsequent month.

Snow Days are considered an excused absence. Lessons, when possible, will be made up by the teacher in conversation with the parents or a credit for the lesson will be given. Teachers will notify their parents and school if they are unable to teach due to inclement weather.

Snow Days are considered an excused absence. Lessons, when possible, will be made up by the teacher in conversation with the parents or a credit for the lesson will be given. Teachers will notify their parents and school if they are unable to teach due to inclement weather.

Absences due to Covid-19 are excused as well and all efforts will be made to make-up missed lessons.  If lessons cannot be made-up then lesson credits will be issued.

Termination of Lessons

By parents: Parents may terminate lessons at any time. However, if lessons are terminated after monthly lessons have begun, PKC will not refund the remaining balance.

By PKC teacher: A PKC teacher may terminate lessons if there is a behavioral or disciplinary concern with a child. If there is a concern, the PKC teacher will be in discussion with the school personnel, the parents, and the Pianimals Kids Club Owner. Every effort will be made to resolve the situation. However, if efforts remain unproductive, PKC reserves the right in conversation with the school, the parent, and the PKC teacher to terminate the lessons.

Release of Child from the Classroom for PKC Piano Lessons

In order for your child to be released to the Pianimals Kids Club teacher for their piano lessons, a sign out form will be given to your child’s classroom teacher. Your child’s teacher must initial this form to verify that your child was released for their piano lessons. If the teacher is not available to sign the form, the director or assistant director of your child’s school must sign the form.

Recommendations for Parents

Pianimals Kids Club strongly recommends that:

  • Your child has access to a piano or keyboard for practice. Teachers can recommend places where keyboards can be purchased.
  • Parents practice with their child during the week with words of support and encouragement.

Practice schedules are based on age:

  • Ages 3-4:  allow and encourage the child to play at will
  • Ages 5-6:  5-10 minutes, 2-3 times a week
  • Ages 7-8:  10-15 minutes, 3-4 times a week
  • Age 9 and older: 15-30 minutes, 4-5 days a week
